Add online booking to Joomla with a Schedito booking widget

Add online booking to the Joomla website you already manage while keeping services, resources, availability and bookings centrally configured in Schedito.

Joomla remains responsible for your website structure, content, menus and presentation. Schedito provides the booking logic behind the customer-facing widget.

Online booking for Joomla without turning Joomla into the booking engine

Keep your Joomla website

Add booking to your existing Joomla structure instead of rebuilding the website around a separate scheduling platform.

Keep booking logic outside the CMS

Services, resources, availability and booking data remain in Schedito instead of becoming dependent on Joomla articles, modules or template structure.

Use Joomla's flexible layout model

Place booking in an appropriate module position, dedicated booking page or other suitable location in your Joomla frontend.

How Schedito works with Joomla

Joomla manages the website. Schedito manages booking.

1. Configure Schedito

Create the booking calendar, services, resources, recurring availability and any date-specific exceptions in Schedito.

2. Connect Joomla

Load the shared Schedito frontend assets once through the Joomla site integration and place the calendar-specific widget in the required frontend location.

3. Receive bookings

Visitors see actual availability while Schedito evaluates your booking rules and centrally manages the resulting reservations.

A natural fit for Joomla modules and templates

Joomla separates reusable frontend modules from the site template and its assets. That maps well to Schedito's own integration structure.

The shared Schedito stylesheet and JavaScript should normally be loaded once through an appropriate template or site-level asset mechanism. The calendar-specific widget DIV can then be placed where booking belongs, for example through a Custom HTML module.

Multiple booking locations can share the same Schedito frontend assets while using different calendar-specific DIVs.

Add a real scheduling layer behind your Joomla website

Dynamic availability

Combine normal recurring hours with closures, exceptions and availability that exists only on selected dates.

Services and resources

Manage services together with staff, rooms, equipment and other resources required to deliver them.

Appointments and fixed-date sessions

Handle ordinary appointments as well as workshops, sessions and other bookable opportunities on specific dates.

Capacity-aware booking

Allow several customers to reserve the same session when its underlying resource has multiple available places.

Google Calendar synchronization

On supported plans, connect external calendars to help keep Schedito availability aligned with existing commitments.

Adapt it to your Joomla template

Select a light or dark presentation and configure supported visual properties to complement your Joomla frontend.

Joomla booking widget FAQ

No. Schedito is designed as an external booking platform and can be connected to Joomla through standard frontend integration.

A dedicated Joomla extension is therefore not required for the basic integration.

Yes. Joomla includes a Custom HTML module designed to output custom markup in module positions. This provides a natural place for a calendar-specific Schedito widget DIV.

The shared Schedito CSS and JavaScript should normally be loaded separately rather than duplicated in every module.

They should normally be handled once at template or site level using an appropriate Joomla frontend asset mechanism.

The dedicated installation guide covers the recommended approach without requiring you to modify Joomla core files.

No. Joomla remains the website and content-management layer. Schedito stores and manages its own booking configuration and booking data.

Your services, resources, availability and bookings remain in Schedito. You may need to reconnect the frontend assets or reposition the widget in the new template, but the booking configuration itself does not need to be recreated.

Yes. Schedito is independent from Joomla. Add the widget to the replacement website and continue using the same booking configuration.

Keep Joomla as your CMS. Let Schedito handle booking.

Add booking to your existing Joomla website without moving your scheduling model into the CMS.
